People that work at hospitals need to find ways to say things to patients or to each other, in general, to those who need small talk. Here are a few that get thrown around regularly enough to make you want to yak...
No news is good news.
Who let the cat out of the bag.
I was born at night, but not LAST night.
The past is history, the future is a mystery, and today is a gift that's why it's called the present.
When it rains it pours.
A watched pot never boils.
Calling the kettle black.
It takes one to know one.
The common is not so uncommon.
Blessed be the all knowing "they" who have come up with these pieces of dribble that last the test of time, and comfort millions, as "they" say. No, "they" don't say that. But "they" say it might snow tomorrow, aaaand you know what they say about that!!!!!better dust off your shovel!

Countdown to Lurkey
The time to give thanks by gorging ourselves is quickly approaching. The birds will soon be loaded into the ovens all over the U.S. People will be donning their buckle hats atop pilgrim bobs, and others Indian feathers in rememberance of how corrupt we all are, and recounting the steps we've taken to get here in the current moment...or not. The cornucopias are being filled with that eerie corn, and gourds abound. Please remember to use gravy, when the time comes.

The Power of Wigs

People like to wig-out. Some people wear them all the time, for others it's a special occasion thing, for some, it's not something they've chosen, and for others it's a disguise, or for theatrics.
I bring this up because I was sitting in the cafe at work with Billy and we were people watching, as we do, and in walks a lady with a long blonde wig with bangs, tight hot pants, 4inch heals and the minute she stepped into the the room she commanded all attention. That wig topped the whole package off, and she knew she could get away with anything. She trotted over to the grill and snatched a box of chicken wings from out under the heat lamp and stuffed them into her purse, laughing. She proceeded to pull a sprite out of the fridge and go to check out. She paid for the sprite and slowly made her way out, head high, wig swaying, and armed with her scandalous wings. The minute she was out of site, the whole kitchen staff looked at eachother, dumfounded and annoyed, whispering, "did she pay for that chicken?" Everyone knew she didn't, but nobody dared to go after her. Ahhhh the power of the wig.

Brrrr, it's gold outside
I can't stop thinking about this commercial. I want to melt every piece I own.
The woman who wants to melt her jewelry from her past marriage is the best.

RRRR
Sirens need to be revamped, if you ask me. With everything else going green and safe and more efficient right now, I think it's time for something more high tech and less annoying. My ears take a beating working in a hospital area. Whatever happened to the simple car that goes boom?

Seventh Heaven
Human beings are really weird.
As a traveler of public transportation, I constantly have the time to look at other humans and think about how weird they are. With their hair and idosyncracies, and facial expressions. Their clothes, their thoughts, their feeeelings. The things that annoy them, the way life weathers or preserves them, like pickles. I wish that we accepted the fact that we are living in a big interconnected movie and that at any moment we could all break into a dance off.
My most favorite thing in the world is when people are linked into a higher force of music and movement. This has to be one of THE best songs in my opinion, as well as clip..
