Blooog

I never usually have any problems writing, but somehow doing something like this feels weird. However, I'm gonna bring it for anyone interested in reading my dribble...

I've been living in Boston, achemm.. Cambridge for the past few years and have this kind of love/not love thing with the city. Growing up outside of NYC I was spoiled with the abundance of stuff "the city" had to offer...then I began to realize that cities are all filled with transplants, suburbanites, locals and tourists, and it's all the same crap, just Boston has it on a smaller scale, so it's walkable and the population is a bit more heterogenious, ie college kids and irish stuff. There are good cocktails to be had and people to meet, but I've had to learn how to be a little less friendly and more flaky to survive happily.

New England observations I've made..

1. New Englanders like to cut pizza with a knife and fork.

2. The Vineyard is THE place on the planet where preppy reigns supreme, khaki, polo, sweater tied around the neck, docksiders, are the norm and the uniform to wear there.

3. Private Schools.

4. Names like Lally, and Trearty, and Winston.

5. Don't ever look at anything! Keep your gaze straight ahead, always.

6. When driving do not communicate with other drivers, just take care of yourself.

7. Do not laugh in public or show emotion. Humor and it's effects show weakness.

8. Bitch about the weather a lot.

9. In Cambridge, one can always feel free to layer multiple shades of earth tone and pukey colors and let one's hair gray naturally and frizz up.
